Jordan Lake

Beautiful fall day at Ebenezer Point.  SW winds around 15 with nice gusts.  Once again Rambo was the first to come and the last to leave.  Tom, Brian, John H, John R, Jim, Chris, Bill and his daughter, and Patrick were all there.

Ebenezer Point Thursday October 20, 2011

Tom S, Brian, Erik, Michelle, and I had a great afternoon session.  That's Erik in front of me.  For some reason it looks like he is getting further away from me :).   I started on the 7.5, went to the 5.8 when the wind picked up, and then back to the 7.5 to finish the day, all on the 138L Twinser.  I think Erik was on his formula board with a 6.0 in the video.

What a great facility to sail from

It was a beautiful day with good wind and warm water.

I Can't Quit You Baby

Otis Rush doing an awesome performance of Willie Dixon's blues classic "I Can't Quit You Baby."

When the wind doesn't blow baby, you know it hurts me deep down inside :)

Ebenezer Point Windsurfing October 15 2011

It was a gorgeous Fall day with some nice Westerly gusts.  As Brian S and I were slogging we could see a nice SW gust coming across the lake.  About that time Tom S came blasting by and we pulled in behind him.  After we tacked, John R blasted by from the other direction.  Also sailing were John H, Jake, Dana, and Gwynnsurfer.  I sailed my 138L Twinser with an Ezzy Zephyr 7.5.  John H and Dana were also on their 138 and 135 Madd Twinsers.  Thanks to John H for letting me borrow some longer fins.

First Freshwater Jibes

The conditions and skills finally came together for me to make my first freshwater carving jibes.  Nice Westerly winds at Ebenezer Point, Jordan Lake.  138L Twinser with a 5.8.  Beautiful fall day.

Terry's Body Drag and Flip

Terry having some fun in the flats on Core Sound.

Terry Blasting and Body Dragging

At 0:05 you will see the splash in the distance from me being catapulted, then Terry passes Ralph and does some body dragging.  Ralph was on his 85L with at 5.2.  I was on the 104L with at 5.8, a little overpowered when the wind came up about 3:00pm.

Core Sound Flat Water Windsurfing

Ralph got some footage of Terry and I blasting around the flats.  The smooth water made it easy for me to improve my jibes.  I was stoked to do five in a row.  Terry really put on a show with the lay down and duck jibes and some awesome body drags.

First Windsurfing Trip to Core Sound

Ralph and I stopped for an excellent lunch at the Sanitary Restaurant on the waterfront in Morehead City on the way to Harkers Island.  We had sunny skies, air temps in the 70's, and good NE wind all weekend.

Core Sound veterans Terry and Tracy graciously invited us to sail out of their family place for two days.  What an awesome setup.  We sailed 2 miles across for excellent flat water sailing at the grass islands.  Roger, Kathy, Michael, and Ralph made the portage for some hardcore ocean sailing on Core Banks.

Sundown at the Basin

This was our first sailing spot of the three day weekend.  My first trip to the basin.

Confronting the Malefactors

There’s something happening here. What it is ain’t exactly clear, but we may, at long last, be seeing the rise of a popular movement that, unlike the Tea Party, is angry at the right people.

Quick Post from Today - More Later

Mark, Jim and I had a great afternoon. My last outing of the day was the best.  Madd Twinser 138 with a 5.8 Ezzy Wave Sail.  Falls Lake, Rolling View State Park.
